More strange trains on the WCML.

Again, I've seen some more strange trains here on the west coast mainline near Rugby. This time, a train that came past about 00:05 with tonnes of bright lights switched on, on the side. It was one car and very loud. It didn't look like a passenger train though. It's the second time in a row it has happened at about the same time. Anybody have any ideas as to what it could bem

Did it look like one of these?

Perhaps because there are not many normal trains on the network, they are venturing out a bit further than normal?

The train equivalent of the goats roaming the streets in Llandudno.

It’ll be a departmental unit of some sort I guess. Maybe a rail grinder or some form of inspection unit. A lot of them are single units.

Brilliant response!!! (but excuse the pun).

This one has come from Tring Civil Engineers sidings,up to Northmpton arrived 23.41 and back again 10 minute later according to RTT.

It was a Balfour Beatty rhtt movement, most likely a weedspray train, mpvs are covered in lights
