Most frequent service between two stations

I just read on Dutch-language Wikipedia that the service between Brussels South and Central, with 20 trains an hour, is one of the busiest in the world [source needed].

I assume that's one way and heavy rail only. Can anywhere in Britain, or anywhere else for that matter, beat that?

Clapham Junction to Vauxhall has around 25tph (if you count Clapham Junction to Waterloo that has around 30tph).

Has to be Waterloo to Clapham Junction, busiest British Station to busiest London Terminal. Over 30 an hour from what I can work out from National Rail Website.

EDIT: I found 12 Clapham J to Waterloo in the next half-hour at this time of night.

Yep 24 trains between 2300 and 2359. Service dies down a bit as there are only five between 0000 and 0059 and then one last train at 0109.

According to this, Clapham Junction has a spectacular 749 trains a day to London Waterloo, which seems to average at about 43 tph. If you search the return journeys, Waterloo to Clapham Junction it only lists 641 trains a day, averaging at about 36 tph (42 in the evening peak). I'm not sure why there is a discrepancy, can anybody shed any light?

Edinburgh has 348 trains a day to Haymarket, which is about 22 tph.

Liverpool Lime Street has 221 trains a day to Liverpool Central, which is about 14 tph.

I presume the extra 10 (ish) tph from Clapham to Waterloo are the Hounslow and Kingston loop trains.

Even CLJ to Victoria just about beats Brussels South-Central, with about 22/hour during the day.

I think the discrepancy between the number of trains in each direction between Waterloo & Clapham Junction maybe be because a lot of trains out of Waterloo are pick up only at Clapham whilst in the other direction they they are pick up/set down.

Liverpool Lime Street has 221 trains a day to Liverpool Central, which is about 14 tph.

While that is, no-doubt, correct, it is only a one-way system; so there are no return journeys to count, I guess, unlike the others.

Hamilton Square to James St, apparently, has 431, which makes sense as that is two-way.

LBG to CHX is 15tph from 07:30 to 08:30, and 15tph again from 08:30 to 09:30, so not as good.
On the contrary, LBG to CST is 21tph from 07:30 to 08:30, and 22tph from 08:30 to 09:30. When you consider the slightly more congested nature of that route, it explains why my trains in are always held up at London Bridge!

Some suggestions have already been made for stations outside London. Liverpool James Street to Hamilton Square seems to be the winner, with Edinburgh Waverley to Haymarket in second place.

Partick to Hyndland in the off-peak is 14tph each way Mon-Fri.

Moorfields to Liverpool Central ranks quite highly as there are technically two ways you can go... there are 12 tph (each way) on the Northern Line and 14 tph (one way) on the Wirral Loop Line... and this is all day.

40 tph between Monument and Haymarket on the TW Metro during the evening peak - 20 in each way. Monument then can have an additional 11 trains per hour going from platform 3 and 4.

As for London Bridge to Charing Cross, don't forget that in peak hours not all trains stop at London Bridge. Charing Cross to Waterloo East gives you slightly higher figures.
