Next weekend marks 25 years of running trains from Butterley station on the Midland Railway Butterley. To celebrate this we are holding a special 3 day Silver Jubilee Weekend running from Saturday 26-Monday 28 August. Visiting locomotive will be 71000 Duke of Gloucester, top-and-tailed with our own Standard Caprotti 5 73129, making this the first time you'll be able to see the 2 remaining Caprottis running side-by-side. 25 locomotives will be turned out on both Standard and Narrow Gauge running lines as well as unique photographic opportunities throughout the weekend at Swanwick Shed.

Just to let you all know, 71000 Duke of Gloucester arrived safely at Swanwick Junction at around 1800 today (Thursday 24 August).

Again, this is promised to be a great weekend with both the remaining 'Caprottis' running together top-and-tailing their own train throughout the 3 day weekend.
