Noob question I'm araid...

I have a Training course tomorrow and I am hoping to catch the 06:17 From Haymarket Edinburgh to oxenhome, I bought a single advance.

Im confident this service will be cancelled as its cancelled quite often at the best of times. With the flooding today i've accepted it probably wont run. When it does cancel does that make my ticket essentialy a "day saver" and I can hop on any train carlisle bound or am I limited to just transpennine trains?

Your ticket is valid on the next train of the same operator, unless you are advised that ticket acceptance by another operator is in place.
