Exeter to Paddington. Booked through Trainline.com. First Class seat has been reserved as coach D ?
Having used this route many times thought First Class was L . I have asked for confirmation and have had the reply as D is first class ??

Isn't First Class in coach D on the Class 800? But they aren't running down there yet, are they?

Correct! The 800s have a Saturday diagram on the 0818 Paddington to Paignton, and return.
The 802s (similar to 800s) are being introduced later this month to Plymouth and Penzance.

Welcome to the forum.

It's never worth booking tickets on trainline. Despite their advertising they don't have access to cheaper tickets and they're never cheaper as they add a transaction fee. Simply use a train operating company website, some like Virgin even use trainline's software so the user interface will be identical. Train companies can sell each others tickets (although a handful of special offer tickets might only be available on the website of the company you're travelling with) and are not allowed to charge booking fees.
