Some more updates were published yesterday. No summary has yet been published to the ATOC site yet, but the changes are:

Map changes:
XR: Gain Basingstoke to/from Romsey
XR: Gain Brockenhurst to/from Romsey
XR: Gain Eastleigh to/from Romsey
XR: Gain Southampton Group to/from Romsey
This map is used in 524 routes.
This adds Romsey to the map. Of the links:
  • Eastleigh-Romsey and Southampton-Romsey are well-served.
  • Brockenhurst-Romsey is possible on a weekday, but only if you catch one of the handful of trains which stop both at Totton and Redbridge. From Redbridge, you can catch one of the Southampton-Salisbury trains.
  • Basingstoke-Romsey was added to a number of maps in December 2014 for an engineering diversion which sent trains through Salisbury without actually reaching the station. I don't know if this has been used since.
XR doesn't contain Portsmouth-Southampton (so Portsmouth-Southampton-Romsey-Eastleigh is not an option), and there are no map combinations where you can now move from XR to another map in Romsey.

This does mean that someone going from Southampton (or a station associated with it) to (say) Reading can now travel via Romsey and Chandler's Ford, as can someone going from Brockenhurst to Reading who catches a train which stops at Redbridge.

Permitted Route changes:
Darlington (DAR) to Manchester Group (G20) gain HT+HV
Manchester Group (G20) to Newcastle (NCL) gain HV+HA
These journeys now have mapped routes via Doncaster.

Derby Group (G09) to Wilmslow Group (G69) gain AN+NB+YL EM+OC WH+YL lose EM+MH EM+MS PR
This journey no longer has mapped routes via Manchester.

Manchester Group (G20) to Scarborough Group (G48) gain HV+DS lose HV+DO
Wakefield Group (G30) to York (YRK) gain KY lose NS YY
No effect.

Meadowhall (MHS) to York (YRK) gain DO HV+YY+YS lose DS DY
This journey no longer has mapped routes:
via Barnsley;
via Streethouse; or
via Pontefract Group, except via Outwood.

Sheffield (SHF) to York (YRK) gain DO HV+AT lose DY
This journey no longer has mapped routes via Barnsley, or via Pontefract Group.
It now has mapped routes via Doncaster, Fitzwilliam and Leeds Group.

Easement changes:

Removed:
< 700689 (Fare route) During engineering works between 08 and 23 April 2017 which will affect journeys via Bath Spa. For journeys to from Weymouth, Upwey, Dorchest West,Maiden Newton, Chentnoler, Yetminster, Thornford, Yeovil Pen Mill, Castle Cary, Bruton, Frome,Westbury, Trowbridge, Bradford on Avon, Avoncliff, Freshford, Bath Spa, Melksham, Chippenham to Bristol and South Wales priced on tickets routed on (00700) NOT VIA LONDON, (00829) VIA YEOVIL and (00618) VIA SALISBURY will be permitted to travel via Swindon. This fare route easement applies in both directions.
This is a temporary easement which has expired.

Meadowhall (MHS) to York (YRK) gain DO HV+YY+YS lose DS DY

This journey no longer has mapped routes:
via Barnsley;
via Streethouse; or
via Pontefract Group, except via Outwood.

Sheffield (SHF) to York (YRK) gain DO HV+AT lose DY

Absolutely ridiculous. I fail to see how changing at Leeds for Meadowhall, which would involve going via Barnsley is not a reasonable route. It also means there is now no way to get from say Thirsk or Malton to Meadowhall with only one change barring the couple of pacers a day from York (which are no longer mapped I believe but are valid under the shortest route rule.)

On another note, I wonder who initiated this change. My suspicion is it's XC. Is it possible that removing permitted routes on rival operators would increase their share of ORCATS revenue?

Some more updates were published today. ATOC had't published a summary here for it yet, but the changes are:
Barnsley (BNY) to Meadowhall (MHS) gain MY lose NB
Meadowhall (MHS) to Wakefield Group (G30) gain MY lose SY
No effect.

Doncaster (DON) to Selby (SBY) lose DO
This journey no longer has any mapped routes via York.
An "any permitted" Doncaster-Selby ticket still lets you travel via Gilberdyke, so it's not a complete waste.

Gilberdyke (GBD) to Pontefract Group (G22) lose HD
Pontefract Group (G22) to Selby (SBY) lose GU+DO
These no longer have any mapped routes via Doncaster.

Meadowhall (MHS) to Selby (SBY) gain MS+EE NB+HL lose DO
This journey no longer has any mapped routes via York.
It now has mapped routes via Barnsley.

Meadowhall (MHS) to York (YRK) gain MY
This journey now has mapped routes via Barnsley.

Leeds-Meadowhall trains use routes of:
1. Leeds Group-Wakefield Group-Barnsley-Meadowhall;
2. Leeds Group-Pontefract Group-Wakefield Group-Barnsley-Meadowhall; and
3. Leeds Group-Wakefield Group-Swinton-Meadowhall.

Adding this map (entitled "Routes via Meadowhall to York", oddly enough) means you can use any Meadowhall-Leeds train for that part of this journey.

There isn't a mapped route for a Meadowhall-Selby ticket using the second set of trains above to Leeds (although it shows up on journey planners anyway). Nor, for that matter, is there one for a Meadowhall-Harrogate one.

Easement 000082 has changed from:
000082 (Doubleback) Journeys via Swindon and Didcot or via Swindon to Didcot and routed Not London may double back between Reading and Didcot. This easements applies in both directions.
to:
000082 (Doubleback) Journeys from Appleford and beyond to or via Swindon routed (00700) NOT VIA LONDON, (00405) AP OXFORD and (00415) AP NOT VIA LONDON may double back between Reading and Didcot. This easements applies in both directions.
This has effectively changed from "Didcot or beyond" to "Appleford and beyond" (the next station towards Oxford) and from "via Swindon" to "to or via Swindon", and it has been expanded to cover some GWR advance tickets.

So Didcot-Trowbridge is no longer valid with a double-back, but some advance tickets for Oxford-Plymouth and Evesham-Bridgewater are. I don't know when it comes in useful, though.

As a footnote, the ATOC summary has since been uploaded here. I've amended my summary of the easement 82 change as a consequence.

But Sheffield does not, as a result of the change listed in your previous post.
It doesn't, but this isn't such an issue as a direct Sheffield-York train is faster than the route via Barnsley. It's not so good if you want to stop somewhere on the way, but I don't know how strong an argument that would be for anything.

Some additional changes were published on Friday. here.

New dataset RJRG0461 published 05 May 2017

Comparing RJRG0461 RJRG0460

Following amendment to Map EL removing link to London Group (G01), changes to map sequences and removal of duplicates

LONDON GROUP (G01) and Gospel Oak (GPO) - added sequence 'EN+OV'
LONDON GROUP (G01) and Surrey Quays (SQE) - added sequence 'HI+EL'

LONDON GROUP (G01) and Gospel Oak (GPO) - removed sequence 'OV'

These journeys no longer have any mapped routes which double back between Willesden Junction and London Euston.

map changed
Map EL - EAST LONDON LINE changed ( 1 removed link from (G01) London Group and
(HHY) Highbury and Islington)

This removes London Group from the map. This has the following effects:

Brockenhurst/Eastleigh - Denmark Hill/Nunhead/Peckham Rye
Blackheath/Lewisham - Surrey Quays
Effingham Junction/Epsom/Leatherhead - Denmark Hill/New Cross/New Cross Gate/Peckham Rye
Gatwick Airport/Haywards Heath/Horsham/Lewes/Three Bridges - Denmark Hill/Nunhead/Peckham Rye/Surrey Quays
Havant/Salisbury - Nunhead/Peckham Rye
Motspur Park/New Malden/Raynes Park/Surbiton/Wimbledon - Denmark Hill/New Cross/New Cross Gate/Nunhead/Peckham Rye
Wivelsfield - Denmark Hill/Peckham Rye/Surrey Quays
These journeys no longer have mapped routes via Highbury & Islington.

Kingston - Surrey Quays
This journey no longer has mapped routes via Tulse Hill and Highbury & Islington.
It still has ones via Clapham Junction and Highbury & Islington using other maps.

Following early completion of engineering works at Brentwood easement deleted

700681: During engineering works between the 24 December 2016 and 21 May 2017,
customers travelling to or via Stratford (London) from Brentwood may not
travel via Shenfield. this negative circuitous route easement applies in both
directions

Following early completion of engineering works at Brentwood easement amended
to reinstate doubleback easement

700366: (Until the 23 December 2016, and again from the 22 May 2017 )
customers travelling from Brentwood to Stratford (London) or beyond may double
back via Shenfield. They may not leave the station. This easement applies in
both directions.

The stopping trains are all back, so easement 700681 and the bit in the first set of brackets in easement 700366 have now been removed.

Some more changes were published today:
New dataset RJRG0462 published 10 May 2017

Comparing RJRG0462 to RJRG0461

Due to the combination of map sequence PB+TV not having a link between the Birmingham Group (G02) and Coventry. Permitted routes to Milton Keynes and Bletchley from the West country were failing in journey planners. The root cause was a change to map TV in October 2013. The correct this situation the map sequences PB+TV have been replaced with PB+EB
With PB+TV, Birmingham-Rugby involves joining the West Coast Mainline at Lichfield or Tamworth. With PB+EB, it means going via Coventry or Nuneaton instead. And so:

Bletchley (BLY) and BRISTOL GROUP (G05) - added sequence 'EB+PB'
Bletchley (BLY) and EXETER GROUP (G12) - added sequence 'EB+PB'
Bletchley (BLY) and Liskeard (LSK) - added sequence 'EB+PB'
Bletchley (BLY) and Newton Abbot (NTA) - added sequence 'EB+PB'
Bletchley (BLY) and Par (PAR) - added sequence 'EB+PB'
Bletchley (BLY) and PENZANCE GROUP (G79) - added sequence 'EB+PB'
Bletchley (BLY) and Taunton (TAU) - added sequence 'EB+PB'
Bletchley (BLY) and Truro (TRU) - added sequence 'EB+PB'
BRISTOL GROUP (G05) and Milton Keynes Central (MKC) - added sequence 'PB+EB'
EXETER GROUP (G12) and Milton Keynes Central (MKC) - added sequence 'PB+EB'
Liskeard (LSK) and Milton Keynes Central (MKC) - added sequence 'PB+EB'
Milton Keynes Central (MKC) and Newton Abbot (NTA) - added sequence 'EB+PB'
Milton Keynes Central (MKC) and Par (PAR) - added sequence 'EB+PB'
Milton Keynes Central (MKC) and Taunton (TAU) - added sequence 'EB+PB'
Milton Keynes Central (MKC) and Truro (TRU) - added sequence 'EB+PB'
PENZANCE GROUP (G79) and Milton Keynes Central (MKC) - added sequence 'PB+EB'

18 sequence(s) removed

Bletchley (BLY) and BRISTOL GROUP (G05) - removed sequence 'TV+PB'
Bletchley (BLY) and EXETER GROUP (G12) - removed sequence 'TV+PB'
Bletchley (BLY) and Liskeard (LSK) - removed sequence 'TV+PB'
Bletchley (BLY) and Newton Abbot (NTA) - removed sequence 'TV+PB'
Bletchley (BLY) and Par (PAR) - removed sequence 'TV+PB'
Bletchley (BLY) and PENZANCE GROUP (G79) - removed sequence 'TV+PB'
Bletchley (BLY) and Taunton (TAU) - removed sequence 'TV+PB'
Bletchley (BLY) and Truro (TRU) - removed sequence 'TV+PB'
BRISTOL GROUP (G05) and Milton Keynes Central (MKC) - removed sequence 'PB+TV'
EXETER GROUP (G12) and Milton Keynes Central (MKC) - removed sequence 'PB+TV'
Liskeard (LSK) and Milton Keynes Central (MKC) - removed sequence 'PB+TV'
Milton Keynes Central (MKC) and Newton Abbot (NTA) - removed sequence 'TV+PB'
Milton Keynes Central (MKC) and Par (PAR) - removed sequence 'TV+PB'
Milton Keynes Central (MKC) and Taunton (TAU) - removed sequence 'TV+PB'
Milton Keynes Central (MKC) and Truro (TRU) - removed sequence 'TV+PB'
PENZANCE GROUP (G79) and Milton Keynes Central (MKC) - removed sequence 'PB+TV'
These routes no longer have mapped routes via Tamworth.
They now have mapped routes:
via Birmingham International; and
via the direct Birmingham-Nuneaton route.

Bletchley (BLY) and PLYMOUTH GROUP (G21) - removed sequence 'TV+PB'
PLYMOUTH GROUP (G21) and Milton Keynes Central (MKC) - removed sequence 'PB+TV'
These routes no longer have mapped routes via Tamworth.

Curiously, EB+PB was made a valid map sequence for these in August 2014, also to provide routes via Birmingham.

For new station at Cambridge North open from 21 May 2017

Added 700713: Customers travelling to Cambridge North, from Waterbeach, Ely, Littleport, Downham Market, Watlington and Kings Lynn are permitted to doubleback via Cambridge. This positive doubleback easement applies in both directions
I don't know about the rest, but the planned service between Cambridge North and Waterbeach is rather sparse.

MANUAL EASEMENT - not used in journey planners - implemented locally
Added 700714: Tickets to/from Cambridge are also valid at Cambridge North and tickets to/from Cambridge North are also valid at Cambridge. This easement covers all tickets, including season tickets, except Advance tickets.
To me, this sounds a lot like the sort of thing you use station groups for.

For South West Trains ticket promotion

Added 700715: Between 19 May 2017 and 14 July 2017 customers with promotional fares, (ticket codes EGG; EGH; NW1; NW2; NW3; NW4), priced on route (00127) SWTRAINS ONLY may travel on South West Trains services via Clapham Junction where normally travel via Claphm Junction is not permitted. This fare route easement applies in both directions.

Added 700716: fares, (ticket codes EGG; EGH; NW1; NW2; NW3; NW4), priced on route (00127) SWTRAINS ONLY may travel on South West Trains services via Clapham Junction and Staines to Wokingham where normally travel via Clapham Junction and Staines is not permitted. This fare route easement applies in both directions.
These are fixed price tickets which allow break of journey, but (according to the offer terms) for which you are not permitted to catch a train which reaches Clapham Junction before 11am, whatever the code on the ticket says.

Engineering easements now expired and deleted

700676: On the weekends of the 04/05 and 11/12 February 2017, East Coast services are routed (without stopping) via Hitchin, Cambridge and Ely. To ensure journeys to and beyond Kings Cross are shown in Journey Planners, (where map permissions do not currently include links between Hitchin and Cambridge); this temporary map easement will operate in both directions.

700680: During weekend engineering works from the 04 to 12 February 2017, temporary permitted routes from Leeds to London St Pancras via Grantham and Nottingham will be in operation. This map easement will apply in both directions

700682: During weekend engineering works from 04 to 12 February 2017, affecting the East Coast Mainline, tickets priced on fare route (00430) EC & CONNECTIONS may travel via Wellingborough to London and beyond. This fare route easement applies in both directions

700690: During engineering works affecting journeys via Bath Spa, betwen 08 to 23 April 2017, journeys will be permitted via Swindon for journeys from Weymouth, Upwey, Dorchester West, Maiden Newton, Chetnole, Yetminster, Thornford, Yeovil Pen Mill, Castle Cary, Bruton, Frome, Westbury, Trowbridge, Bradford on Avon, Avoncliff, Freshford, Bath Spa, Melksham and Chippenham to Bristol and South Wales. This map easement applies in both directions

700692: Due to engineering works Cross Country services are diverted via Newport (South Wales) on 18 and 19 February 2017. This map easement will create temporary permitted routes between the West Country and West Midlands and will apply in both directions.

700693: During engineering works between 08 and 23 April 2017 that affects routes via Bath Spa, journeys from South Wales to the South Coast (eg Portsmouth) will be permitted via Swindon, Chippenham, Trowbridge and Westbury. This positive map easement will aply in both directions.
All now expired, as stated above.

Due to the high cost of living in Cambridge, many have moved to points north and commute by train instead (there is increasingly serious overcrowding on services from these stations into Cambridge in the morning peak). Many of the jobs are much closer to Cambridge North than Cambridge, but scheduling, electricity supply and train length issues mean that most southbound trains in the peak cannot stop at Cambridge North. The solution - recasting the timetable, lengthening platforms and upgrading the power supply - is two years away, at least.

But not March/Peterborough etc.? That seems a little irritating, given the XC trains aren't going to stop at Cambridge North.

Raileasy also allows the journey via Cambridge. I can't see why the journey planner on NRE is being so strict...

ATOC's routeing point calculator states that Cambridge North-Peterborough is valid via Cambridge, which probably means journey planners all do too. If this is repeated elsewhere (something which cannot be checked in a reasonable period of time using published sources), this sort of thing may only affect people going between Cambridge North and stations associated with Ely (including everywhere between Peterborough and Norwich exclusive).

Some more updates were published on Wednesday. These include an easement which only affects things over this weekend, so sorry about not posting anything a bit sooner.
New data set RJRG0465 published 14 June 2017

Written on 15 June 2017.

Note datasets RJRG0463 & RJRG0464 were test data sets which contained no Routeing Guide data changes from RJRG0462
If anyone wondered why the "Posted on Website" date changed without anything in the data files (including the date) changing, this is probably the answer. They did something similar on Thursday, although the dates were changed then.

Comparing RJRG0465 to RJRG0462

Maps reviewed, changed and one renamed
I haven't checked what effect these changes have on routes which aren't listed below, but plan to do so shortly.

Map GC - LONDON TO WORCESTER VIA HIGH WYCOMBE AND BIRMINGHAM (3 removed links to Nuneaton, Rugby and Worcester)
Worcester, Nuneaton and Rugby are no longer shown on the map. The map has been renamed "LONDON VIA HIGH WYCOMBE TO BIRMINGHAM" to reflect this.

Map HE - PORTSMOUTH & HAVANT TO EPSOM VIA GUILDFORD (1 added link Guildford to Woking)
Woking is now shown on the map.

Map SY - MIDLAND MAINLINE TO YORKSHIRE renamed (1 added link Swinton to Pontefract)
This has been renamed from "SOUTH YORKSHIRE LOCAL ROUTES" to "MIDLAND MAINLINE TO YORKSHIRE". Adding a route between Swinton and Pontefract Baghill doesn't substantially alter the effect of the map, but a map which is used for Pontefract-London journeys isn't all that local anyway.

MI has been renamed from "MIDLAND MAIN LINE - LOCAL ROUTES" to "MIDLAND MAIN LINE - TO LOUGHBOROUGH" (without any changes to the map), probably for the same reason.

Map WX - LONDON AND SOUTHERN HOME COUNTIES TO THE SOUTH WEST AND SE WALES(1 removed link Woking to Guildford)
Guildford is no longer shown on the map.

Map XR - CROSS COUNTRY ROUTES FROM SOUTH COAST TO READING changed (1 added link Guildford to Wokingham)
This would mean that you can go from Guildford to Wokingham without going through Farnborough North (or Ascot, Reading, etc.), if there is a route which allows this. I don't think there is, though, and it doesn't seem to have made it onto the published map, though.

Map XS - ROUTES VIA READING TO PORTSMOUTH AND SOUTH COAST (5 removed links to Walsall, Lichfield, Tamworth, Stratford Upon Avon from Warwick & Tysley)
Lichfield, Stratford upon Avon Group, Tamworth and Walsall have been removed from the map.

I refer to Stratford Upon Avon Group as Wilmcote a few times below, as that's the first station in the group a train from somewhere else would reach. Wilnecote is somewhere else entirely.

As a consequence of the above map changes the following map sequences were added

Accrington (ACR) and Doncaster. (DON) - added sequence 'DP+DO'

As described above.

For engineering works, the following dated easements were added

700717: Due to engineering works, Cross Country services via Bristol Parkway will be diverted via Newport (South Wales) between 02 and 15 September 2017. This map easement will create temporary permitted routes via Newport (South Wales) that will operate in both directions.
Crosscountry will be travelling Bristol Temple Meads-Patchway-Newport-Gloucester-Cheltenham and vice versa then (at least, some trains will), so I would assume anyone with a Bristol-Cheltenham ticket can do the same.

700718: During engineering works between 08 and 15 July 2017, journeys to Bath Spa from or via Didcot Parkway may travel via Bristol Temple Meads. This map easement applies in both directions
If you're going to Oldfield Park from Didcot, by contrast, you'll need to use a bus from Swindon to Bath.

700719: Customers travelling to Edinburgh and beyond, whose normal route is via Newcastle and Berwick, may travel via Carlisle during engineering works on Saturdays 16, 23, 30 September and 07 October 2017; Sunday 17 September 2017 . This map easement applies in both directions
If your normal route is via Carlisle, you can still travel via Carlisle during those engineering works. Not sure what it means for people whose normal route involves the A68.

700720: During engineering works in preparation for HS2, on the 26 and 27 August 2017, customers travelling to Penrith, who would normally travel from London Euston, may travel via London Kings Cross, York, Newcastle and Carlisle. This map easement applies in both directions.
The planned closure is between London and Hemel Hempstead, so this should avoid it. Travel via the MML is permitted anyway. You would not be permitted to use this route with (e.g.) a London-Carlisle ticket, of course.

This easement does, I assume, override easement 700303 (which prevents travel for London Kings Cross and beyond-Carlisle and beyond from going via Newcastle).

700721: Due to engineering works between Birmingham and Nuneaton, customers travelling from mid Wales to or via Ely on the 17 and 18 June may travel via Tamworth, Nottingham and Grantham. These map easement will create temporary permitted routes that will apply in both directions.
There are no trains between Nuneaton and Birmingham, so this allows people to avoid the buses.

The following easement was amended with new dates for engineering work changed in the data sent to journey planners to operate with easement 700718
700694: During engineering works affecting Great Western services on (27 to 29 May and 10 to 11 June 2017) 08 to 15 July 2017, tickets priced on fare route (00810) NOT VIA READING will be valid via Reading.
The bit in the round brackets has been replaced by the bit after it, of course.

This is useful for some journeys, if not for Didcot-Oldfield Park.

New locations were added to the following easement
700704: Journeys priced on route (00804) VIA WORCESTER from Gloucester; Cheltenham Spa, Stonehouse, Stroud and Cam & Dursley to Blakedown, Hagley, Hartlebury, Kidderminster, Cradley Heath, Lye (West Midlands), Stourbridge Town and Stourbidge Junction. may travel via Cheltenham spa. this fare route easement applies in both directions
Stonehouse and Stroud have been added to this. I can't, at the moment, see a valid route from Stonehouse, Stroud or Cheltenham to any of those places which doesn't go through Worcester.

Farnborough North isn't a mandatory timing point for trains that don't stop there, so it's possible that having it there as a non-routeing point map node may have been causing some confusion or problems for online journey planners, which I suppose this change would fix.

When I see something like this, I wonder "why this map and not the 21 others which include Farnborough North?"

It could be a bit awkward if journey planners reject some routes involving trains which don't stop at Farnborough North (which I think is just the Crosscountry Guildford train) while accepting others using a route which the published maps show in an identical way.

This journey no longer has mapped routes:
via Streatham;
via Sutton; or
via Feltham and Effingham Junction.

NRE is now showing Guildford - Clapham Junction via Sutton itineraries as requiring 2 tickets.

According to RailMiles, the route via Sutton (and Mitcham Eastfields) is 30m 03ch, while the shortest Guildford - Clapham Junction route is 28m 52ch. Has the 3 mile rule been abandoned?

Not sure about the exact figures you've quoted but are you by chance considering the shortest route from Guildford to Clapham Junction as being via Woking? Via Effingham Junction and Oxshott is shorter.

Aha! Problem solved!

On RailMiles I used Clapham Junction (Central) to measure the distance from Guildford - this comes in at 28m 52ch.

However, if the RailMiles destination Clapham Junction (Mainline) is used instead, the distance becomes 25m 76ch.

Using the latter distance the route via Sutton and Mitcham Eastlands is approx. 4.5 miles longer. It still seems stingy to bar this perfectly reasonable route though.

Incidentally, Guildford - Victoria journeys continue to be valid by this route. Presumably the maps for Guildford - LONDON permit this.

It could be a bit awkward if journey planners reject some routes involving trains which don't stop at Farnborough North (which I think is just the Crosscountry Guildford train) while accepting others using a route which the published maps show in an identical way.

Only approx. 50% of trains stop at Farnborough North, only a couple of the peak Gatwick to Reading services do

A new update for the routeing guide was published on Wednesday (described by ATOC here). I've listed the easements below, but I haven't had a chance to look through the map sequences properly yet.
New dataset RJRG0466 published 05 July 2017

Comparing revision RJRG0466 to original RJRG0465
MAP SEQUENCE CHANGES OMITTED.

To prevent circuitous journeys via London Marylebone new easement added

700722: Customer travelling on tickets priced on fare route (00046) CHILTERN ONLY to or via Aylesbury may not travel via London Marylebone. This circuitous route easement applies in both directions
This route is used for tickets between Aylesbury, Little Kimble and Monks Risborough on the one hand, and Bicester Village, Islip, Oxford Parkway and Oxford on the other. In each case, there is a more expensive "via London" ticket.

Easement for the engineering works closure of London Euston 26 & 27 August 2017
There are a few of these, but they don't seem to have been implemented on every ticket site yet.

700723: During engineering works in preparation for HS2, on the 26 and 27 August 2017, customers travelling to Rugby, who would normally travel from London Euston, may travel via London Marylebone, Leamington Spa and Coventry but not on Cross Country Services. This map easement will apply in both directions.
As there are no extra trains planned via Kenilworth, this means travelling via Birmingham Moor Street. I suppose it's not a bus to Milton Keynes.

700724: During the closure of London Euston on the 26 and 27 August 207 as a result of HS2 preparatory engineering works, journeys between London and Manchester; Wilmslow and Stockport will be permitted via London Kings Cross and Leeds on Virgin Trains East Coast and onward to Manchester on TransPennine Express services. This Fare route easement will allow tickets priced on (00452) Virgin West Coast & Connections to travel via Peterborough on Virgin Trains East Coast Trains services and operates in both directions.
This is described as a "fare route" easement, but it still affects "any permitted" tickets.

700726: During engineering works in preparation for HS2, on the 26 and 27 August 2017, customers travelling to Manchester who would normally travel from London Euston, may travel via London Kings Cross, York, Leeds and Huddersfield. This map easement applies in both directions.
This also seems not to be implemented everywhere.

700727: During engineering works in preparation for HS2, on the 26 and 27 August 2017, customers travelling to Nuneaton, who would normally travel from London Euston, may travel via London St Pancras and Leicester. This map easement applies in both directions.

700728: During engineering works in preparation for HS2, on the 26 and 27 August 2017, customers travelling to Liverpool, Chester and North Wales, who would normally travel from London Euston, may travel via London St Pancras, Leicester and Nuneaton. This map easement applies in both directions.
These also have routes from other central London stations.

700729: During engineering works in preparation for HS2, on the 26 and 27 August 2017, customers travelling to Penrith, who would normally travel from London Euston, may travel via Carlisle. This routeing point easement overrides fares checking and applies in both directions.
This opens up routes via Settle, but not via Newcastle as they're not valid on "any permitted" tickets.

For engineering works affecting journeys to London Paddington on 16 && 17 September 2017

700725: Due to electrification works Great Western services to and from London Paddington will be diverted via Didcot, Oxford and High Wycombe on the 16 & 17 September 2017. this map easement will apply in both directions
This does not apply to routes to and from London Marylebone, of course,

To ensure locations which did not have prices at NFM64 have journeys shown in Journey planners, a routeing point has been added

700730: Customers travelling from Amersham, Chalfont & Latimer, Chorleywood, Rickmansworth and Harrow on the Hill via London Victoria may travel via London Marylebone. This routeing point easement overrides NFM64 fares checking rules that are preventing these journeys being shown. This applies in both directions
The NFM64 list only gives prices for local journeys for these.

To ensure Journey planners show Via worcester fares from Bristol area new easement

700731: Tickets from Bristol priced on fare route (00804) VIA WORCESTER are valid via Cheltenham Spa. this positive fare route easement works in both directions.
This one affects journeys to and from stations between Hartlebury and Cradley Heath inclusive. As such, it gives the same benefit 700704 does to journeys from Gloucester, Cheltenham, Stonehouse, Stroud and Cam & Dursley.

To ensure Journey planners pick up all locations - data changed - wording unaffected

700697: From 02 to 15 September 2017 during engineering diversions via Newport South Wales (with journeys travelling through Severn Tunnel Junction twice). This doubleback easement will apply in both directions.
This has had specific dates added to it.

To ensure Journey planners pick up all locations - data changed - wording unaffected

2 change(s) in 030049: Customers travelling to or from St Bees, Corkickle, Whitehaven, Parton, Harrington, Workington, Flimby, Maryport and Aspatria to Penrith and stations south there of may travel via Carlisle. This easement applies in both directions.

To ensure Journey planners pick up all locations - data changed - wording unaffected

700640: Customers on journeys from St Bees; Corkickle; Whitehaven; Parton; Harrington; Workington; Flimby and Maryport to Lancaster, Carnforth, Bare Lane Morecambe, Heysham Port or to the Isle of Man with tickets routed ANY PERMITTED (00000) and (00996) ISLE OF MAN STEAM PACKET, may travel via Carlisle. This Local easement applies in both directions.
Text unchanged.

To ensure Journey planners pick up all locations - data changed - wording unaffected

700648: To override fares checking for journeys from Alfreton Langley Mill and Ilkeston to and via East Midlands Parkway but excluding Peterborough and beyond; Long Eaton and beyond; Attenborough and beyond; Nuneaton and beyond; Wellingborough and beyond on tickets priced on route (00000) ANY PERMITTED, this positive Routeing Point easement will allow travel via Chesterfield any will apply in both directions.
This has had Ilkeston added to it.

To switch of this negative easement during engineering works - Easement amended

700486: Customers travelling from Melksham to Bradford On Avon, Avoncliff, Freshford, Bath Spa and beyond may not travel via Westbury, except during engineering disruption between the 08 - 16 July 2017. This easement applies in both directions.
This has had the "except" clause added.

A couple of extra easements were published this afternoon. There isn't a summary on the RDG site yet. The additions are:
700732 (Routeing Point) Customers travelling to Teignmouth from Cheltenham Spa may travel via Taunton. This routeing point easement overrides fares checking and applies in both directions
Teignmouth-Cheltenham is valid via Exeter anyway, so I'm not exactly sure what this easement is meant to do.
700733 (Fare route) Journeys from Surbiton to Cosham, Hilsea, Fratton, Portsmouth & Southsea and Portsmouth Harbour, routed (00635) "via Woking" are valid for travel via Effingham Junction. This easement applies in both directions on Saturday 5, 12, 19 & 26 August 2017 and Monday 28 August 2017
These are now effectively via Clandon/Woking tickets.

They could do with making that valid all the time. Try travelling from Portsmouth Harbour on the 0519, 0550 or 0642 departures wanting Surbiton. NRE suggests you need a travelcard as that is the only any permitted ticket.

It's more because that's a ticket NRE understands. Stopping short on a "Clapham Junction" ticket would be cheaper, but neither it nor any of the booking sites know how to check that.

Hopefully a helpful person at ATOC or SWT who sees this post will realise this and fix the problem properly :)

If they don't, all they are doing is forcing people to use ticket offices or TVMs instead of online booking sites, as no Guard*/RPI is going to mind if someone takes the shorter direct route rather than deviating via Woking and I am sure ticket office staff would issue the fare without fuss.

(* I think most of the Guards on this route are non-commercial, so won't be checking tickets anyway!)

Or rather, they are on those dates (when the timetable is apparently disrupted by Godalming being given a more regular London service).

I am surprised that Portchester isn't included in the easement, though. If you're hoping to reach Portchester by a specific time (which I'm sure some people do), there's only about 3 minutes in the hour when going via Woking would be your last opportunity to do this, with the x55 via Woking and Winchester being followed by the slightly quicker x59 via Clandon and Havant.

The wording of "This easement applies in both directions on [dates]" to me implies that the easement always applies when heading south, but only applies on those dates heading north! Surely that's not what they meant, though...

A couple of changes were published this afternoon. The most recent update on ATOC's page is the 5 July one. The changes are:

Liskeard (LSK) to London Group (G01) gain GW+WE
Par (PAR) to London Group (G01) gain GW+WE
These journeys now have mapped routes via Bristol and Newbury.

There were already routes this way to London from every other routeing point between Taunton and Penzance. There were and are no routes like this to (say) Slough, though.
