Hi all,

This forum has been very useful to get prepared for NR interview - Thanks very much.

I was hoping someone who knows the Network Rail realistic recruitment process can advise on what to expect after an interview has taken place.

What's the earliest time a verbal offer can be extended to an applicant before HR then catches up with official documents and acceptance etc?.

I thought this would usually happen within a week or so. Maybe I'm wrong, but tomorrow makes it one week post interview, so wondering if there's still hope.

Thanks in advance.

Remember, there might be interviews still going on, especially if there’s internal candidates interviewing that need cover etc. It could be weeks between the first and last interview and they normally won’t tell anyone yes/no till all the interviews are done.

I've waited weeks before even when the only candidates were internal and we'd all had our interviews.

A week is nothing. Did they give you an indication of how soon you'd hear? I was offered a job (internally), allegedly first choice, a good week after I was told it would be all wrapped up. I'd consider anything less than 3 weeks pretty speedy :)

Thanks.
This really keeps my mind at ease. I was told I'm the last to be interviewed and should hear from HR in 3 weeks, but I actually envisaged that the hiring manager would at least give a verbal offer before HR comes back within that time frame.
Fingers crossed.

AFAIK hiring managers don't tend to do that, the first communication that you get from NR after the interview will be a phone call (often on a No Caller ID number) within the said three weeks.
