Nowadays the Chiltern and Great Western class 165/166 Network Turbo units have the exterior livery and interior design of their respective operators (or in the case of Great Western the seats still retain the previous branding) but I'm unable to find any indication of what they were like before privatisation. I can't personally find anything online.

I realise that there won't be as many digital photos as there would be for a modern design, but if anyone can find anything then it would be much appreciated.

A quick search yields

This has some interior pictures

The only real difference between the interiors of the 165/0 and 165/1 fleets were very slightly different hopper window fittings.

As built 166s had the same moquette as the 159s - ie not the standard blue blaze 1 moquette fitted to 165s - basically dark blue with a narrow diagonal white stripes and two columns of red flecks top to bottom.

In addition to JonathanH's response, your search may give the results you want if you add 'Network SouthEast' to the search term.

The 166s had a cardphone in the centre car, in the vestibule adjacent to the end saloon with the full size tables.
