Except that LTE is a 4G system, and as @hooverboy notes the South Korean LTE-R project was lead by Nokia. It's the UIC that is investigating a 5G-derived solution as potential successor to GSM-R.LTE-R is a 5g based system which still uses much of the GSM architecture but is further advanced and allows on board to ground video as well as audio and data. It's a Huawei promoted system that has been used successfully in China. Not sure how the Western World is going to react to a Huawei system, it's certainly not favoured in commercial systems!
