As part of the project to make the Stroudwater Navigation navigable up to Stroud (where the Thames and Severn canal (once owned by GWR) takes over and runs besides the railway up to Sapperton) a new bridge is requires a few miles south of Standish Junction.
The first image is from an information board of how it used to look. The second is how it looks now with a pedestrian path and a small culvert under the railway. The third image (taken from across the canal) is of the large concrete sections which will make up the new bridge. The works are expected to take place in December of 2021.

I will hope to go down there again once its finished so please don’t expect regular updates as it’s a half hour walk from the (GWR) train station!
