I heard that c2c are trialing an automatic refund system whereby if there is a delay that qualifies for compensation, you are automatically refunded what you are owed to either your bank card or you Oyster. The trail will start next year, I think. Thoughts?

My understanding it is only for those with a smartcard. In theory it is a good idea to automatically compensate for delays, and to compensate from a 2 minute delay. But I fear that at compensation levels set at 3p per minute up to 29 minutes it might backfire when passengers see they're get payments of pennies.
