I see Lisa has been upgraded to a younger model, ;)

Other then that, it's good to see the site being brought into the 21st Century bar the number of errors.

It's crap.

If I ask it for a live departure board of a station it doesn't appear!

I tried GTW for both arrivals & departures and it comes up with nothing.

Errors are normal for 21st Century... The links I've got saved on my mobile for LDB seem to work still, though.

You'd think they'd make sure something works before letting it loose on the public. Oh - I forgot, this is the railway!

So now can't check live departures or arrivals from any station!

I thought that it maybe a Firefox glitch so switched to (Spit, Spit) IE8 (both 32 & 64bit versions) and it still won't go.

It's still being updated. I did ask you all when you thought the update would come out yesterday - changed my thread couple hours ago to ask everyone what they thought of it xD

The update started @ about 15 - 1600 from the back pages crossed, the last page to change to the new layout was the homepage

Live departures do work from some pages and the new way it's done is cleaner and more effective you can easily see when a train is in or out and now platform numbers appear on all major stations.
:)

EDIT 1
http://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/en/p/home/show

It works on custom homepages if you have a journey planned out; CDF - BRI I tried and it worked.

EDIT 2
Added a picture of the LDB

I just tried to plan a journey for tomorrow.

GLD-BHM departing 13/12/09 at 08:00, in less than 30 sec and this is what it came back with!!!

Your journey planning session has timed out due to inactivity.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.

What a load of **** it is, someone needs to pull it down, rip it up & start all over again.

Another prime example of some over paid office chimp not understanding the simple phrase:

If it ain't broke, Don't fix!

Haha, Have you got a NRE User?
I had to log in again up the top for that error to stop.

Again, I've got the same problem then again I found a simple cure of just using the FGW journey planner, ;)

Problem was... the old NR website was "broke." It was awful to use and looked pretty dreadful as well.

I agree, the old NRE Website confused EVERYONE, this one is sleeker and every website has its flaws when it comes up.

It wasn't it was perfectly usable, this one it trash!

I've just installed a flash ad blocker to try & make it usable.

None of the journey planners work, none of the LDB's work, loads of features don't work, it's a shambles, a farce & I've just sent them an email to say exactly what I think of it as a railway worker and I've pulled NO PUNCHES.

I'm using Google Chrome and it's still awful! The adverts just pour over the text. And why should I have to create a 'user account' to solve my problems - all I want is some train times! (I know I can use TOCs websites, but it is a complete shambles. I've emailed them too. It's a horrendous mess.)

Just tried a quick install of Google Chrome, what did I get, the same errors.

The reason you're not is because you're a registered user.

I'm not & I'm not going to register either, because that opens the door to loads of junk emails.

This is a public website & the only thing it is at the moment is a public and NATIONAL disgrace.

SWT, theres bound to be bugs in the website at the moment you don't upload a new website and have it work straight away. It's just not possible.

There are so many differences from beta and internal to external and rc. I've never seen a website manufacturer that has managed to bring a website from beta to rc once without bugs.

It is possible. They're just cheap/lazy/useless. Possibly all 3, it really is a terrible job. It's not just a few bugs, it's *awful*.

Dai. You're missing the point.

You are a registered user, you logged in.

As I said earlier, I'm not & I'm not going to register either, because that opens the door to loads of junk emails.

99,99% of the public aren't registered users & I suspect they'll be & feel the same.

Hence why I logged out, closed my browser, re-opened it and checked through the Live Departure Boards at the bottom of the page I got the Departure board asking me what station to check, entered CDF to check it, it went to the departure board page and I got a list of the trains as usual, the only issue with it is the CSS hasn't caught up yet and it goes back to the old style with big fonts being used.

Screenshots -
Note I'm logged out on the first one

It's still malformed here, with buttons missing and all sorts of weird glitches!

I think I'll leave it alone tonight & see if it becomes stable overnight.
