We are pleased to announce the appointment of six members to two exciting new roles on the forum. The first will be, as announced a few weeks ago, for people to assist with the running of the Railway Jobs & Careers forum.

The Railway Jobs & Careers forum was created in November 2008 as a subforum and as its popularity has rapidly grown, now has a place among our top forums. Many members join to visit this forum and seek advice, and we want to make sure they are left with a good impression and the top quality advice they need.

Over the past few years the forum staff have received many messages of thanks as the help and advice they obtained assisted them in securing their dream jobs in the railway industry. Other people have shared advice for existing employees or, in other cases, it has simply been an opportunity for those to ask what life is like at other locations on the railway.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Simon11 and lewisrday, both of whom are currently employed in the railway industry, to the role of Jobs & Careers Assistant.

We are also creating a new role to assist forum staff in the Fares, Ticketing & Routeing section. This role will be known as a Senior Fares Advisor, and will be appointed from the pool of the existing Fares Advisors. This team will be trentside, crehld, MikeWh and maniacmartin.

Senior Fares Advisors will have a limited number of moderating capabilities, so that they can play an important role in the efficient running of these sections. Existing forum staff (Administrators and Moderators) will still retain overall responsibility for the running of the forum.

Congratulations to our new Jobs & Careers Assistants and Senior Fares Advisors. Both of these roles are being created on a trial basis, and will be reviewed in 6 months time.

Nowhere near enough to a Pacer :(
Particularly pleased both with the idea of senior ticketing advisor and at the foalk appointed as all give excillent advice. Was the choice of MikeWH due to his limmitless understanding of all things London/TFL? If so good call

I see you've given them olive-y colours. How about giving Careers Advisors, say, black and the Fares Advisors purple? It'll make the groups more distinguishable.

A variety of colours have been tested, black is too similar to the current dark blue colour used for regular members, as well as the standard text used elsewhere on the forum.
