While going though Moorgate LUL, I noticed a brand new Underground stock in one of the bay platforms with a large number of orange hi vis wearing people and a test message plastered across the doors.

Think it was one of the new S Stock, anyone able to throw any light on what was actually happening today at Moorgate LUL?

It has already be mentioned on the other S stock thread that they are testing the S7 stock between Hammersmith & Moorgate off peak

For information, as I'm not aware if it's already been posted, the people in orange by the S7 in Moorgate bay are station staff on the C&H - it's their S stock familiarisation - (although staff between Aldgate & Baker Street have already been trained owing to the S8's).

As has been mentioned elsewhere in this Forum, the wish is to commence a 'preview service' between Hammersmith-Moorgate before the Olympics.

Never used the underground to Hammersmith, looks like a perfect reason to do it :)

Indeed, 'preview service' to start operating next Friday 6 July. 1 train running Hammersmith-Moorgate, off-peak M-F.

Approx. 15 minutes ago, checked TubeBuddy app on my Blackberry phone and saw that there was a Hammersmith service standing in platform 3 at Moorgate, is it possible that this was the S Stock that's out on test on the H&C Line?

Usually on weekdays there are a handful of Hammersmith services which are booked to turn back at Moorgate in the bay platforms, although they're formed of C Stock currently.

And will do in the future - S8 stock i believe, is to have a standard set of Moqutte for all SSL services (Met, District, H&C & Circle). Don't know if this has changed since i saw and had the Metronet details, but it wouldnt supprise me if it's still the same.

I've looked on the TfL website and by looks of things, I can only see one Hammersmith service booked to turn back at Moorgate:

Hammersmith: 11:09
Moorgate LUL: 11:41

That is of course not including services very early in the morning or last thing at night.

Does anyone know what Hammersmith services are booked to turn back at Moorgate between 8am and 1pm please?

The train quoted is M-F T261 a "runs as required" passenger working from Hammersmith-Moorgate. The train then runs empty to Wembley Park and Neasden depot 'for maintenance purposes'.

There are no other scheduled Hammersmith-Moorgate passenger workings 08:00-13:00 M-F.
The S7 'preview service'/training runs are reported as:
T700 M-F "runs as required":
1007 HMS-MGT 1040
1055 MGT-HMS 1127
1128 HMS-MGT 1202
1210 MGT-HMS 1241
1428 HMS-MGT 1502
1510 MGT-HMS 1541

T700 SAT "runs as required":
0858 HMS-MGT
0940 MGT-HMS
1012 HMS-MGT
1055 MGT-HMS
If operating, the train will be 'double-ended' with 2 drivers.
