Does anyone know what counts as 'peak time' on the Newcastle to Leeds route? I'm hoping I can buy an off-peak return to travel back sometime between 3-5pm but want to make sure it's actually valid then. I've tried contacting Virgin but they haven't replied to my email or tweet.

It's difficult to look up restrictions by official methods, but fortunately a forum member has made a website that makes it easy! It's www.brfares.com

The return portion of a Newcastle - Leeds Off Peak Return (SVR) is valid by any train, as there is "No restriction".

The outward portion is barred on "trains timed to depart after 04:29 and before 07:45".

That's fantastic - thanks!
