No 43010 and No 43091

Hello All,

I believe that off lease No. 43010 is at St Phillips Marsh, Bristol and No. 43091 is being worked on at Laira. No. 43091 was recently swapped for No. 43086 having been in store at Long Marston.

Anyone know what their respective fates will be please?

091 rumoured for NMT , not sure on 010.
Why would an NMT power car go to Laira - who are slower than an asthmatic ant with heavy shopping doing anything these days - rather than Loram at Derby, who have the NMT maintenance contract?

Only going on what I heard , may well be drivel , probably is!

I'd heard suggestions that NR were looking at EMR's ex-GC power cars to supplement the NMT fleet - already being buffered there's that bit less work to do on them.

As for 091, is it not possible that it's been brought down to Laira as a Christmas Tree?

I've heard 071 and 053 or 056 for network rail. GWR still has 009, 010, 029, 088, 160, 162, 171 and 172 in their depots of the top of my head. Possibly for more short sets is my guess. If so I hope they keep 172s livery.

Buffers are probably a nice to have for NR; they certainly aren’t essential. Otherwise 43062 would have them!

43088/156/160/162 are GWR owned and at Wabtec for interlock mods and repaint.
