The LRTA ran a small (i say small and mean it) piece on that in last month's T+UT (Tramway's and Urban Transit). The whole of the Canal Street trolley's are gone...and they were only new two years ago.

They're built to the heritage design thanks the the designation of the line, but with air con and a handicapped lift to get people in (America isn;t too keen on the high street platform). Basically, you're modern tram in a skin!

Fortunate though that the "real" heritage cars were in the Uptown car barn...because they are priceless and irreplaceable.

Regards

The Blackpool balloons must take one hell of a battering from the salty Irish  sea, but have still survived 70+ years (and probably many years from now). It's a shame England got rid of all it's "traditional" trams other than Blackpool, so now we have the plasticly boring modern style, America, (eg San Fransisco) and some other European cities like Milan, seem to have kept there old trams, and keep them going, despite the ridicilous disablitly rights &c.
