travelled cross country voyager yesterday from Glasgow to Exeter St Davids, the 10.59 Glasgow to Penzance,it didn't have any wifi on board, and tried using my Vodafone dongle but hardly worked as no mobile signal booster, found this not good and a put off, compare this to Virgin with wifi and mobile signal booster, will put me off using cross country again so much, would it put off others?

I don't think anyone would CHOOSE to travel with them!

Didnt AXC have issues last year with this & DfT not happy as Wifi was something that was part of the franchise?

Were you under the impression there would be WiFi?

For such a journey I would have recommended travelling Virgin Trains to Birmingham, then Cross Country onwards (probably been cheaper too)
Furthermore, could reduce this further by taking Cross Country to Reading / Bristol, then swapping to First Great Western on which you would not have any problems with your mobile broadband

Yeahhh and they're being fined heavily from what i've heard.
Yes, it was cheaper to pay the fine than install WiFi across their fleet
However, the DfT have advised Arriva that the fine will not be advised in advance next time and the requirement to install WiFi on their services will be enforced
