142039 on the 5.xxpm Leeds to Morecambe this evening.

Weird to think that this time next year they will be all gone.

gosh that’s a long way to be on a 142. What is the longest pacer route operated by Northern

1120 Leeds to Southport was a 142 today. Didn't get the actual number. That's a long journey on a 142.

I've had a few lately Bridlington-Sheffield and return. That's up to 2hr 30min about just under 100 miles. Not fun at all.

Leeds to Southport must be a fair poke too, there used to be some long-ish services from Lincoln to West Yorkshire/Scunthorpe/Hull not so long ago

I've done Carlisle to Preston via the Coast a few years ago on a lovely large windowed 142. just a short 4hr trip. What a way to use a North West Rover ticket.

Now sat on 142019 on the 09.13 Newcastle to Carlisle which has replaced 156475 due to a failure.

Indeed it was a lovely trip across and back, especially with a low winter sun highlighting the scenery. The Tyne Valley is one the best lines up here in the north of England at any time of year in my view.

The approach to Carlisle from the Tyne Valley line is awesome on a pacer. Nice and bouncy!

In a daft sort of way I will miss them. Weird to think their days are actually numbered now.

Most trains are likely to be formed of 4 carriages today so might be more difficult.

From Friday 14th
142013 +057 on the Alderley - Wigan- Stalybridge circuit (1149 ex Ald Edge). A spirited RT ride up to Wigan on this.
142035 + 053 on an arrival at Picc from Rose Hill
Others noted in and around Piccadilly 142001, 044, 063. I know a Neville Hill driver that has driven all Northern's 142s and 144s except 001 - he wasn't happy at this sighting...

Cheers

Has anyone seen 142011, 142046, 142088 recently? I believe 142088 is a Heaton wagon so will hopefully get that on my Tyne & Tees ranger tomorrow
