I've read on the Pacer Facebook group that 142s are banned between MetroCentre and Carlisle, looking at RTT fro some of the cancelled services the reason was "This service was cancelled due to the planned train being replaced with a slower train (MS)."

I travelled on the 1035 from Middlesbrough to Newcastle, formed of 142038. The train was full by Stockton, and although I’m hearing pacers are banned beyond MetroCentre this train was destined for Hexham so I’m assuming it made it all the way there. Full praise to the conductor on this service who was put in an impossible situation having to turn countless passengers away from the train and receiving a lot of flak.

142066 now on its way back to Leeds on the 20.07 from Morecambe. Departed on time. One person off and one person on at Bare Lane. Funny how lots of people still expect train doors to open automatically, the poor train conductor had to shout to the passenger who was busy looking at their phone. "Alexa open the train door" doesn't work thank goodness.

That explains the delays. Reported to have been a fire door on the track to passengers on a TPE service.

Yes, got very lucky with just a 20 minute delay due to awaiting train crew. 11:15 and 12:15 from Sheffield both cancelled leaving a three hour gap. Looks like there is more cancellations this evening.

I saw, later in the afternoon, at 15.40, 142020, at Hull Paragon station, platform 7. It appeared to be empty stock, which was after the working as mentioned above. There were also two 142’s in the sidings beyond platform 1.
