142032 first off the mark this morning on the 0614 Darlington-Saltburn, unusually leading a 158. This service is usually formed the other way round, Pacer bringing up the rear literally and metaphorically.

Number 91 on 0818 Saltburn to Darlington. Number 32 now on 0840 Darlington to Saltburn which should've originated at Bishop Auckland. Vice failed 158796.

Just had a quick look over this thread, is this Saturday definitely the last day for Pacers in the North East? What will be replacing them? (I know it will be 156s and 158s but what I am saying is, will it be 156 or 158 diagrams that increase to replace 142 diagrams)

Any info on this would be helpful as I was totally unaware of the end of NE Pacers until I saw this thread yesterday.

The 1402 from Castleford to Leeds, from Sheffield was a 142, I was too far away for the number. The 1430 to Leeds, from Knottingley, was 144 002 with a 153 on the rear. First time I've seen a 144 here in quite a while. I caught the 1422 to Knottingley and had the joy of 150 226 with a lot of the seat cushions about 9 inches forward of where they should have been. One of the Northern replacements for a Pacer which we are supposed to be thankful for.

Last week of the Pacers in the North East. But a few still around today. Noted were 142030/2/63/7/84 and 91. Number 84 should work the last service from Whitby tonight if it stays on the diagram. Number 32 replaced 158796 at Darlington this morning as it was a failure.

142027+142046 both on the Colne, Ormskirk Blackpool South circut today. So I'm guessing one of those will be on the Morecambe shuttles tomorrow, probably the latter as usually an ex merseyrail pacer tends to be used on the branch.

142095 on the Leeds to Morecambe services also today.

142 030? Stabled opposite platform 1 in Darlington on Sunday... I caught 142xxx to Saltburn that had the bus bench seats in. As I am 6'3" I have to sit sideways... very uncomfortable. On the return Journey from Thornaby at 18:15 it was a 15xxx (I can't remember exactly) .. much more comfortable and nicer ride.

Sorry for the rubbish picture it was the best I could take on my phone without it looking obvious as to what I was upto.

Some of the jungle drums have been doing a bit of bashing around here, all to do with two ECS moves on Sunday 15/12/19 the first is 5T42 Ex Wigan Wallgate CS, the second is 5T43 Ex Blackburn King Street.
I have herd that they are going to be trains of between three or four 142s going to Barrow for cold storage.

Has anyone any news on this?

Saw 142088/142093/142096 going through Chesterfield, on their way to the scrapyard hopefully, other than that it's been quiet on the 142 front.

06:01 Doncaster to Scunthorpe was a 144
06:06 Doncaster to Sheffield was a 144

Hope Valley 15:04 into Sheffield was a 156, service arriving into platform 3 (usually forms 15:30 to Hull) was a 158, only the 15:15 Sheffield to Leeds was still double 142's (didn't get the numbers). Got back into Doncaster on the 15:11 TPE from Sheffield, the Northern service leaving for Sheffield as I arrived was a 144, and the 15:02 Sheffield to Adwick was 150101.

Not raising hopes much, a similar thing happened a week or so ago and everything was back to 142's the day after.
