When did this begin and what is the point in it?
Nobody is going to use it Newcastle - Glasgow with EC/XC infinitely faster. Nobody is going to use it Carlisle - Glasgow with VT/TPE inifinitely faster and for all stops between Carlisle and Glasgow surely it's infringing on Scotrail territory?
I never knew this service ran until I was looking into a return to Dumfries from Glasgow, I use Glasgow Central High Level twice per day for my commute and have never noticed Northern Trains, I once saw a Northern 158 at a silly time at GC but assumed it was just lost/not meant to be there/an accident.
So yeah, when was this introduced and why?
