TV interviews last night had the passenger quote "the fares go up but nothing about the service ever changes".
This while clearly taking place in a brand new train.

If and when someone else gets the job, who in their right mind would want it, will all the problems disappear as by magic?
All the new units will start to work perfectly and all arrive on time. All the crews will be fully trained and vacancies filled.
Network Rail will get its act together and there won't be any faults on the system or the need for closures for maintenance.
Finally money will be no problem, the money tree will flower for ever and a day.
No I thought not.

Yes a brand new train formed of only two carriages which will turn out to be just as overcrowded as the two carriage trains they're replacing. Of all Northern's idiotic decisions, making the class 195s 2 and 3 car instead of 4 and 5 must be the worst.

If it wasn't for those meddling, pesky full fare paying "normals" Northern would have gotten away with it too.
