It’s the same from Glossop and Hatfield aswell. The last service back is only 21:00 too. It’s pretty silly IMO.
Never mind about Congleton having a bad service on Sundays and comparing it to Macclesfield, on Sundays the first train from Macc doesn’t get into Manchester until 10.30.

Late first and early last trains are pretty minor issues compared to 4 HOUR gaps between services....

Useless service if you want a day out by train to, say, York. Also useless if you want to travel to Scotland and get there by mid-day.
XC has stopped at Congleton in the past, I think on Sundays and maybe weekday evenings. Anyone remember? So perhaps they can be persuaded to call there again if schedules permit.

They still call:
0557 Birmingham - Manchester (Mon-Sat)
1727 Manchester - Bournemouth (Saturday only)
1827 Manchester - Bournemouth (Mon-Sat)

Surely it should be northern's responsibility for Sundays as they had the franchise commitment.
Also if XC do Sunday calls that doesn't improve the Sunday service for Prestbury - Bramhall.
