Scotrail may be hanging onto them till after the golf open at st Andrews.Any updates on the transfer of the 170s and 158s from Scotrail, as mentioned in my previous post?
I hear that they will be most likely used on the Nottingham where they can stretch there legs a bit rather than Leeds Southport. The ones on the harrogate line must use vast quantities of fuel as they never get out of first gear ( 65mph) as that's the line speed is also 65mph.
Perhaps they need regearing to suit Northerns mostly slow network.
