Northern/TPE this morning

Does anybody know why Northern & TPE services where severely disrupted this morning through Preston to Bolton/Manchester?

Apparently a train broken down on the line between Preston and Blackpool, not sure of the exact location

Thanks for the info, that would explain it. Services from Wigan and from Clitheroe/Blackburn seemed fine, so managed to get to the Airport eventually!!

Confirmed by a driver team manager at BON, failed unit at Kirkham and Wesham.
