Big blue ticket machine on the Manchester bound platform, nothing on the Sheffield platform. Quite a walk to get to the other platform as the footbridge was removed decades ago.
The big blue ticket machine has a large advertising poster alongside promoting the TfGM Wayfarer ticket which rather conveniently cannot be bought from the machine.
Perhaps this is intentional as many day return fares from Strines to the west and north of Manchester are more expensive than a Wayfarer, especially if you want to return during the evening peak on Mondays to Fridays.
