Here is the November update on my blog, which will be updated on a monthly basis. I will include the four 170s which arrived from ScotRail last weekend in this month's update, which I will probably post in a few weeks' time.

If you have any feedback or see any mistakes, please PM me here. I will update the list on here soon.

Bookmarked it nice one, saves me asking the same question when the thread goes quiet.

Quick update on the ex-ScotRail 158s: they are NOT PRM modified. Have seen both 158870/871 in the last few days and neither have been modified yet. I don’t believe the other six have been modified in Scotland, either.

170456 and 457 went past the cramlington cam, leaving the 2 final 170s 453 and 458 to transfer to northern.
So did 4 170s come down on Sunday 2 to NL ( 170454 and 170455) and 2 to Heaton (456, 457)? Or was the path Haymarket to Heaton for 156s as suggested above. Confused.

No 156s have transferred to Northern yet.

156449 and 156485 were both seen at Glasgow Queen Street with all ScotRail branding removed yesterday so presumably those two units are transferring to Northern imminently? Like the ex-ScotRail 158s, the 156s also still need the PRM mods.

All of the 5 that are going to Northern have been debranded for a few weeks now, aswell as wifi removed.

Can't see mention of its return so 156423 currently on 2338 Liverpool to Manchester very shiny in the new livery.

Also a 2 car 158 arrived at Crewe yesterday. Saw it from a distance so no ID but it had already been PRM mods as could see the destination it wears a local vinyl on the light purple section and has a name.

I travel on the Lincoln-Sheffield once a week to study at uni part time and have noticed that some two 158's have a passenger information system and the new hustle alarms. I've also been on 158845 (which is very nice!). I'm trying to get my head around Northern's refurbishment works. From what I gather, they are being sent for PRM work first and are being sent separately to have a full refurbishment. This would explain why I've been on a few Class 158's that have screens etc. but aren't refurbished.

I've also seen that the eight three car Class 158's are listed as fully refurbished and PRM compliant. However, they seem to have retained the original seats but have new seat covers and have gained a colour screen for the PIS instead of the usual LED version.

Do they intend to send them back for further refurbishment work at a later date?

Only 4 of the 156s are heading south this weekend, the fifth one is staying in Scotland but heading for refurb.

So does that mean Northern are getting 1 x 156 fewer or it does mean it's delayed possibly with Northern keeping the temporary extra 153s for longer?

It's staying in Scotland to be refurbished for Northern before transferring.

Be interesting to see what Northern do with it then, considering it's interior is much older than on the other Northern 156s and Scotrail did a complete internal refit on the 156s they are keeping.

Do these have the original seating still?
