I am typing this from a laptop with a 230w charger.

Some 17" gaming / graphics device I would assume?

I've hear storied (probably true) people trying to run heair straighteners and travel irons off the 3 pin sockets. No doubt tripped circuits are the result!

I maybe posting this in the wrong place! But 156488 did not sound good! Sounded like a pacer when leaving Grosmont on 22:37 to Middlesbrough.

Was on 156443 yesterday and felt the breaks needed redoing grinding today.
Also travel on 158850 very pleasant and comfy and quiet

Wasn't there a case a couple of years ago of a conductor catching someone about to try plugging in a microwave oven?

I wanted beans on toast and didn't have time at home so took my microwave and got caught, didn't even have time to get the toaster out

Somebody plugged an upright hoover in on an LNER train years ago to see if it had worked. I asked him about it and said he bought it second hand and were trying it out. Another time a hob were plugged in by somebody cooking porridge. Train guard probably did not notice as never came through the train.

Makes it understandable why trains that have 3-pin sockets come with the disclaimer 'Laptops and Mobile Chargers ONLY' (!)

However, perhaps we've digressed somewhat from the subject of the thread.

Surprised it didn't trip the circuit immediately! Unless it was one of the few sockets for cleaners to use (which in many cases existed before sockets throuthout trains). I've seen people plug laptops into them, despite the 'staff use only' signs - which is risky as they may well not be filtered: a hoover doesn't mind he voltage varying quite a bit, but it may well kill a laptop charger!

The original STP diagram was an earlier departure and if my memory is correct, was timed at 75 mph for 156.

The VSTP was input for a later departure and some other data seems to have changed, not the first time on VSTP.

I think the 156s going to Wolverton are going for exam or warranty work, there certainly seems to be nothing changed in them when they come back other than new cushions in the cab seats.

I imagine that might be 156451 which came down the other week?

Not much to do now. Not sure about 150s.? But only 3 158s for a full refurb and about 6/7 156s for new seat covers and flooring.

150's - 7 - 115/117/118/121/127/129/209
156's - 5 - 448/468/475/481/491
158's - 3 - 791/855/861

Plus then various units with flat cloth or purple 150 interiors to replace, and all the digital train mods to do.

Just a thought, have Northern ever done any sort of pride livery? If not, I'd love to design one and possibly a key worker livery too.

They could put it on the pride of the fleet? Actually, what is Northern's flagship train, as they are all a bit meh!

Also is there anymore units coming to Wolverton?

They're really pushing the 195s and 331s as their flagship, being the only trains in the fleet that are actually modern

They do have a key worker livery though it's a pretty poor attempt; just "Thanks to all NHS and Key Workers" as a sticker on the side of a 195 IIRC. I'm sure they could do much better, but "Could Do Better" seems to sum up Northern rather well at the moment...
