Hi, I will be travelling on an Advanced Single from Norwich to Romford. I am booked on a specific GA train from Shenfield to Romford but have realised that using Gidea Park TfL station would suit me better. The GA train and TfL trains depart at similar times. Would my ticket be valid on the TfL service to Gidea Park rather than the GA service to Romford?

You are not officially allowed to break your journey.

Ifthere is a barrier check there , you could be charged the difference between the price paid and the cheapest fare to Gidea Park. In practice you probably won't be and it is rail industry policy not to do this, but there is no way to be certain until you get there.

If they won't let you exit without paying the excess it should still be possible to get on the next train and continue to Romford.

Would OP be penalty fared on TfL service by any possible on-board RP officers as OP doesn't hold a valid ticket for TfL service?

The routeing on these tickets is Greater Anglia & Connections, not Greater Anglia only.

Isn't this a pertinent point? It might be quicker to travel to Romford and pay the small Oyster / Contactless charge to get to Gidea Park - I think there are readers at the foot of the stairs from the fast line platform.
