Hi all,
I bet this has been discussed somewhere else but I visited Norwood Junction today to find that the station has a 4 note Jingle increasing in pitch which plays as a passing train approaches platforms 3 and 4.
I haven’t noticed this at any other Southern/Overground stations and from the videos I watched, this appears to be fairly old signal block driven system (it seemed to know when the train was times to stop)
Does anyone know why it exists just here? The standard ‘train approaching’ announcement by voice was also made at the same time.
