On holiday last week I visited the NRM in York - first visit for around 30 years!

Anyway, there were a couple of diesel Loco's outside that I couldn't get close to, so I was wondering if anyone can identify them for me.

I'm particularly interested to know which Deltic this is.

Sorry about the photo quality - it was taken on my phone through a window near the turntable in the Great Hall.

The car park in the photo is publicly accessible, you can walk right up to those black gates. Phot of 55009 taken from the black gates in June.

Many thanks for the numbers @37038 and thanks for the tip about access via the Car Park @D6975! (Cracking photo btw!)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Yorkshire so hopefully I'll be back a bit sooner next time - if I do get back soon I'll be sure to take a stroll around the Car Park.

Cheers!

There's not always that much stock that far along that siding. The last few times I've been, it's just been a couple of support coaches and maybe one loco outside the doors to the museum store, where you can hardly see them! So don't pin your hopes on it - but worth taking a wander if there is something there.

Occasionally you get lucky and there's something parked in the South Yard though - one time I went and 48151 was there. I love 8Fs so that was a treat.
