Thought people would like a brief summary of the fares changes on NXEA.

The changes are put down to trying to encourage people to travel off peak, and are justified because of the recent improvements, which includes the cleaning of trains  (and to pay for all the NXEA rebrand of course)

Main changes are:
Open Single and Return fares increased by 10%

Cheap Day Returns from London:
No change in morning restrictions.
Evening Restriction (i.e not valid from LST or Stratford in peak) extended to 1629-1834 (currently 1659-1815) - Easement in place for 1634 to Braintree

Off Peak Travelcards.
No Change in Morning Restrictions
New evening restriction to be introduced to be same as CDR above.
Off Peak Travelcards for journeys entireley within TC Zone not included

Savers
Arrival in London not permitted until 10.00 (currently 10.15)
Morning departure from London not permitted before 09.30
Evening peak departure restricted between 16.29 to 18.34 (with an easement for the 16.36 to Braintree)

Anglia Plus increases by £1 to £13
New CDRs in Anglia Plus area for longer distance priced at £12.90, but does not include bus travel in big towns

Stansted Airport to London SOS increased from £16.00 to £17.00. Cheap Day Return and Off-Peak One Day Travelcard withdrawn, but CDR retained in the opposite direction (i.e. London to Stansted) for ’meeters and greeters’.

There are some other changes for individual stations for fares which either didn't exist before or have further restrictions on, but that mainly involes Acle, Lingwood, Open fares from GE Outer station to Gatwick, GE Metros to Stanford Le Hope area, Local fares in the Breckland Line and from Shenfield to March.

Hope thats of interest to someone

Disgusting.

How ironic that XC chose 1815 as the time their CDR restriction would end to be "in line" with a handful of TOCs that go nowhere near XC, yet on the very day XC goes "in line" with one of these disgraceful TOCs, that TOC goes and changes their restriction! The idea of the TOCs "simplifying" is a bit like putting an alcoholic in charge of a brewery and expecting him not to get drunk.

So get those Harold Wood combos in!

OK but someone really should tell the guards that these restrictions only apply to tickets SET by that awful company (whatever it's called), and they have absolutely no right to deny someone on, say, a York to Colchester Saver going out of Liverpool St at 1800!
Anglia Plus increases by £1 to £13

Not too bad I suppose.

Unbelievable!

Hardly, its clearly an attempt to make the ticket not so popular and then withdraw it through lack of use......

Their advise on that is:

We believe that a common restricted period for all ‘leisure’ ticket types will be easier both for passengers and our staff to understand, although there will still be some Cross-London Savers priced by other TOCs which will have different restrictions.

Never thought of that. Hope not :(

It did seem daft having CDRs that cost more than the rover though. Hopefully people will still buy the rover as 10p is nothing for the extra flexibility.
