Also if you look close enough one of the 319's has two different unit numbers on the front 457 is under 36?, think a bit of panel swapping has happened somewhere along the line(excuse the pun).

It is, it's all 2+2 seating as well. And 1/3 coach of first class.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Edit scrap that there is now 3+2 where the snug used to be, although there is one running around minus 2 seats under the pan.

323235 is an oddity being the only Northern 323 to have LED orange screens including working side displays, which are covered up on the rest of the fleet, having broke long before they were covered up.

The 303s had two unique units. 303049, which became 303999, was the only unit in the class to gain NSE livery. There was one fitted with 'plug' doors instead of the sliding ones, can't remember the number though.

Before FCC got their mits on them, the /2s had half of the DTS(A) as first class and the /4s had a third of the DTS(A) as first class. Have FCC changed this?

A 455 coach got plug doors instead of sliding doors as a prototype for the Networkers. It's now got normal doors though, and since refurbishment I doubt it's any different to the rest of the fleet.

Am I right in thinking that carriage was scrapped as the plug doors compromised its structural rigidity?

There were two - 786 and 789 IIRC, they're both now in Saltire livery, though I believe they still retain the SWT interior.
I've seen them a few times, but not been on them (They're always going the other way ).

From what I've read.

321420 is around 7 years newer than the rest of the 321/4 fleet, after the Watford Crash.

The best bits of 321418 & 321420 were used to make a reformed 321418.

A new unit numbered 321420 was built.

Well that is the first time I have heard that! The P5 book has the TSO and DTSO for these 2 sets swapped but does not mention anything about a new set being built.

According to the British Multiple Units: Volume 3 book, a new 321420 was indeed built. New in November 1997, replacing four damaged carriages from 321418 and the original 321420 which were scrapped in October 1997 at Adtranz Crewe. Carriages 71968 and 77962 from the original 321420 were reformed into 321418 in April 1997.

Another one to add to the list on this - 142 now has the 103 style numbering on the FC cab end only (and at that it looks like its been put on a bit wonky!)
185's have had that many "prangs" in recent times I can't remember if 142 was involved in one of them...anyone?

One end of 156420 has a lowered and widened DSD pedal for experimental purposes in increasing the legroom under the desk. The pedal fitted now is version 2, version 1 had the DSD fitted to the right hand side of the footwell.

There's a 455 running about (I don't know the number) with a drop-down window on the secondman's side the same as that found in the cab door of a 377. No idea why though.

I take it that that is a South Central unit?

158 789 still has the SWT interior, I travelled on that set between Edinburgh and Newcraighall this morning!

Blimey I remember 786 and 789,the first two 158's I drove.

5918 I believe. Also it ran round for a time as a three car as did 5912.
5912 was stuck in Wimbledon Yard for years before they re-released it to traffic.
