Odd out of use signals on Up Relief between Lawrance Hil and Stapleton Road

I have an inkling there was some repeaters here for trains backing into the siding, as the curvature would have prevented the driver seeing a ground signal or hand signal.

They are shunting indicators, operated by the shunter at the ground frame. Not likely to ever be used again, as the ‘main line’ (on the Up Filton Relief line) point for the GF was plain lined. The siding having fallen out of use after the rubbish trains stopped running.
