Odd restriction code on Super off-peak return

I was looking up options for a journey on brfares earlier and stumbled upon the following: http://www.brfares.com/#faredetail?orig=SFA&dest=STP&grpd=1072&rte=131&tkt=SRR

The restriction code (PG) apparently depends on the time that you touch your Oyster card on the validator!

Note for Indigo2: It's the same on NRE as well.

When you click all the way through, NRE states "Not to be issued as traditional “paper” ticket." and yet booking engines appear quite happy to do exactly that!

This doesn't seem right either...

Charges capped at daily price cap limit, equivalent to relevant Day Travelcard fare, based on all journeys made on the card between 0430 and 0429 the following day.

Amusing, but not actually surprising. Clearly not a lot of knowledge is required for such positions.

I wonder if the current or previous pricing manager is responsible.

Well indeed.

For the avoidance of any doubt, this fare has absolutely nothing to do with Oyster. It's a return fare for a start, and all Oyster fares are singles. The problem is that it has been given the wrong restriction code. The code should be one that says what times of day the ticket is valid - possibly weekend only, or heavily restricted on M-F.
