Does anyone know what this would have been please? Assuming a NR test train of some sort but never seen one make such a strangely routed journey.

It varies from year to year, but last year the Bristol based train started running in early October:

66850 & 66846 3S59 Weston Milton, 05-10-2019.

The RHTT season returns. 66850 'David Maidment OBE' leads 3S59 19.56 Bristol Kingsland Road to Kingsland Road past Weston Milton. the rear loco is 66846 and the wagons are the usual Bristol based wagons 642012 & 642032. Saturday 5th October 2019.

the wagons will be getting pre - postioned now. Start dates for the services vary. Ours are usually end of September.
