Has there been any relaxtion on peak/off-peak/super off-peak restrictions with the emergency timetables being introduced?

I've searched TOC websites but can't see anything.

It looks like some local authorities have lifted restrictions for the elderly so they can take advantage of dedicated early morning shopping hours that some supermarkets have introduced but, as I understand it, peak and off peak restrictions for all other passengers still apply.

That's all I could see too. I have some really essential travel to make in a couple of days but because of changes to the timetable it means my journey now falls foul of evening peak restrictions.

Did you end up having to buy an anytime ticket?

I doubt anyone would actually charge the excess if a ticket was already purchased.

Indeed, if an itinerary was presented, and the itinerary was impossible to follow, that is the rail industry defaulting on the contract, not the customer, and the rail industry needs to make appropriate adjustments to enable the train(s) before or after to be taken, as appropriate.

I hadn't already bought the ticket but managed to use some creative (but legal!) options that wouldn't normally be available to make the journey and saved quite a bit of money in the meantime.
