According to NRES these stations are managed by Great Western Railway, I personally thought it was the Dartmoor Railway that owned and managed them.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Sunday summer service only wont warrant GWR managing them, when Dartmoor railway use all week!

As a thought though, when they are operating to the national rail network (i.e. summer Sundays) then GWR may well provide a manager/staffing on that day, and they almost certainly will fall under the remit of GWR's area manager for that purpose. Maybe NRE refer to when in use on the national rail network rather than the private network of the other 6 days?

The guard on the GWR services opens the gate at Sampford Courtenay on the first Okehampton bound service and locks it up on the last service bound for Exeter.
