There has been a lot of posts lately in threads that are many months old which contain nothing useful to add to the discussion. Aside from being against the forum rules, this is irritating to some members and can cause confusion.

If you are not sure if what you are intending on posting in an old thread is of any use, it is probably better to either ask someone else, or create a new thread.

Thank you.

Hi Mojo

A suggestion which might help this issue of old threads, and also help in adding a bit of context to threads' Titles:
Does the forum software allow you to change the appearance of the threads in a forum to include the date on which each thread was started, next to the name of who started it? (I know some some forums do, and it does help in spotting which treads are new, which are not-so-new-but-still-topical, and those which really ought to be dead 'n' buried).

Best wishes
Dave

It could be done, but would not be helpful as there are some threads which were started a long time ago which are still being carried on with relevant discussion. The main issue is the fact the thread is at the top of the list when it is no longer appropriate.

sorry to ask, just a question, not taking sides - but is this why Andrew Tiffin was banned? nothing personal, not blaming him or admin!

We do not discuss reasons for banning of other members without their permission, nor is this the right place to do it, but he was automatically banned for a short period for accruing a number of infraction points.
