Isn't it well known there are extra trains on the ECML, WCML and GWML for the Olympics? General consensus I saw on another forum a while ago was it was to be 67s on the ECML and GWML, with 90s up to Manchester on the WCML.

No doubt Leeds and/or Newcastle were the ECML destinations, Cardiff was the only one I recall for FGW. 0100 or something daft like that I believe.

There are additional late services from most London terminii though not much after 01:00... last one to Birmingham is from Marylebone (01:30) as opposed to Euston (01:10). The Overground runs from Stratford till about one, the tube operates an hour later than usual and 2 hours later after the opening ceremony. Think most of this is on the relevant sites already though. It's just handy having them all listed in the one giude .

Somewhere, not in London
Nah, I was just wondering if I was on moderation for basically saying, "RTFT: Read The Full Timetable"...

How hard was it to look at a timetable to find out stopping patterns, really?

There does not seem to be any extra services serving other venue cities. For instance GB play football at Old Trafford on 26th July.

The kick off times are yet to be confirmed but i assume GB will be on second in order to maximise TV exposure. I think you get to see both games with your ticket. This, however, means the GB game will not finish before the final train south leaves.

Is this a missed opportunity?

I think there's actually less trains on the southeastern Greenwich line serving the venues isn't there?

To compensate they will have 12 coach trains for the first time ever after extending platforms and power supply. Should've happened in early 1990s but cancelled due to impending privatisation and now finally happening.
