what time was that 92 passing olympia?

Why were you there :?:

I think he just wants to get some shots of the enterprise trains, as he was asking me when they pass Olympia. I'm sure Julian would be grateful if someone could find out some times on his behalf...

Heh! The easiest way for me to see one of those is to go stand on Durham station at 2345 waiting for the Doncaster-Mossend intermodal.

Shame that they are my favourite class too...great photos though!

Go to Crewe - Loads of 92s there :P

Also 92s don't have ETH IIRC. So that could be a problem for sleeping passengers, they might freezed to death in bed! :P

Remember that 92s were originally supposed to work the NightStar stock up and down the WCML...that was some of the heaviest and most expensive sleeper stock around...so they have a very high ETH rating if i remember rightly.

I found some photos of the NightStar stock here , have the coaches ever been used or just been stored? I'd have thought someone could find some use for them (even just the seated coaches if nothing else)?

They were used in test on the WCML a few times, before the plan was scrapped...they were then stored at MOD Kineton.

A few years ago VIA Rail, Canada, were looking for new sleeping stock, spotted the nightstar stock going cheap and after testing a set in Canada took the rest. They now trade as VIA "Renaissance" sleepers.

Cheers

Dave
