I have a Railcard. Was charged £2.80 from kings cross tube to cheshunt. Then charged £1.85 cheshunt to Stratford via hackney. Then I got a bus assuming it would be free as I'd reached the bus cap...it wasn't . Is that right?

The train journeys don't count towards the bus cap. Had you already been on a bus before the journey you thought would be free?

Yes. That cap only applies to the amount charged for bus and tram journeys on that day.

The cap that would consider all daily charges on all modes would be the general zonal cap. For Zones 1-8 that is £9.00 Off-Peak with a Railcard.

Cheshunt isn't in Zone 6.

Edit: agree that £9.00 is the right cap for Zone 1-8 travel with a railcard. I though it might be more but note it is the anytime where there is a higher differential for the cap outside Zone 6.

No, it's in zone 8, and £9.00 is the cost of the Off-Peak Railcard cap for zones 1-8 (in fact all the way out to zone 9).
Yes, sorry, I agree that £9.00 is the right cap for Zone 1-8 off-peak travel with a railcard.

I thought it might be more but note it is the anytime rather than off-peak where there is a substantial differential for the cap outside Zone 6.
