To avoid clogging up the Northern Pacer Withdrawls thread and to have something to refer back to in years to come - I am going to post any updates to it on this thread.

The aims of this list is to storyboard the withdrawls from the begining to the end, its also to note down which Pacer's have so far been scrapped, those gone into preservation and those that have been converted to other use.

Last updated Friday 3rd April: The class 144's have been updated to show that they are currently in storage at either Keighley or at Heaton. It would be interesting to know if GWR and TfW have stood their 143's down too.

Monday 6th April - addtional minor updates have been added to the class 142's and 143's
---
Red - withdrawn / off lease.
Orange - scrapped / sent to be scrapped
Yellow - converted to other use (does not include food tins or razor blades).

I appreciate the Pacer list, but can I make a suggestion...? That there's also a list sorted by unit status, rather than number...?

As nothing further is happening for now with COVID-19, Wikipedia's 142/143/144 pages should be updated

The position is complicated due to coronavirus where units have been put into warm storage, this applying to a number of TFW Pacers. GWR 143s, 617 and 620 are between them being used to work as a traincrew taxi between Exeter and Taunton.

None have been in service for that time, however some are not at Keighley, I believe Heaton?

Am I the only person beginning to get fed up of seeing the spelling mistake in the thread title?

Class 142 - All remaining units in service are operated by Transport for Wales. Some of TfW units are currently in storage in Swansea according to Rail mag however they may have since been reactivated.

At Swansea Landore, TfW have the two former Northern units, 142 012 & 142 079 which are withdrawn and being used for Spares.

TfW have stored a number of other Pacers at Landore over the past 2 months. Perhaps Stabled would be a better word than Stored. They are at Landore in order to provide more space at Canton, to aid social distancing for staff there. The units at Landore are shuttled back and forward to Canton as and when their exams are due. They're made up in rakes of 3 units and are kept ready to re-enter revenue service at any time.

There are 15 sets currently stabled at Landore:

142 010, 073, 075, 076, 082

143 601, 604, 605, 606, 607, 608, 610, 614, 623, 624
