I will be doing this journey on the tube tomorrow with a small suitcase-just how bad is it, as it seems to be bang in the middle of rush hour? Thanks! :)

Take the Hammersmith & City Line (actually a full-size sub-surface railway, not a tube, so you have more space) from Platform 16 (see PAD map) and board at the very rear of the train, this is the furthest from the entrance at Paddington, so tends to be a little bit quieter.
