BBC said:
Bag snatcher knocks himself out
A man has been charged with robbery after allegedly snatching a woman's handbag and then running into a wall and knocking himself out.
The robbery happened in St Aldate Street in Gloucester, on Saturday morning, police said.

A 27-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment after which he was subsequently arrested and charged.

The woman was not injured during the theft and the handbag was recovered at the scene.

Banana skins are apparently notoriously difficult to slip on...

I don't know if it was posted here but it was on El Reg, a guy robbed a (wait for it) CCTV shop which had live product demos in the windows ;).

There's that story of the guy who, before making off with the contents of the shop he'd broken too, smugly dismantled the CCTV camera and put that in his bag too - nothing like destroying the evidence! Of course, the camera recorded all that happened before it was disconnected (naturally including a nice close-up of the guy's face as he concentrated on taking the camera off the wall...) onto the tapes which were stored remotely. Oops  ;) .

When the bombs were going off in London (7/7) and there was police swarming round i think it was outside Edgeware Road a guy went into the cordoned off area and broke into a TV shop or somthing!!! Sky News were exclaiming he was "another terrorist" and had him on film, and then not surprisingly he was arrested. Now that was a ridiculously stupid crime to commit.
