Hi all,

Apologies for the short notice but I’m doing the above later today. Is my journey valid Petts Wood - Sevenoaks - Ramsgate - Margate? I’ve done the Chatham mainline already and have plenty of time on my hands and fancy ticking this route off the list. I’ll be on an any permitted ticket.

I can't see any permitted routes other than via Chatham, I would suggest a Petts Wood to Dover ticket then a Dover to Margate ticket.

I'm not a fares expert, but having lived around that way, I'd be very surprised if it wasn't allowed. We used to have Charing Cross to Margate trains via that route.

Perhaps one of the fares specialists could confirm ?

That’s what I thought Yorksrob. Considering Ramsgate trains go straight through Petts Wood and I’d only be heading south to pick one up from Sevenoaks. I’m fairly confident it is but I did just fancy a double check.

And thanks for the idea cactustwirly, but work are paying for my ticket and I don’t know if I can swing that haha

Turns out my ticket was marked ‘not via London’ so I figured that was good enough. I’ve often read your comments Yorksrob about trains in Kent etc, and I had a pleasant journey through Kent. Looking forward to my return.
