Do any of the forum members have any information regarding a train crash that happened at Liss on the Portsmouth Direct Line in 1987. The basic details I know are that a Class 33 33001 on a parcels working from Waterloo ran into the back of a stationary 4VEP, the driver jumped out of his cab door before impact. I have looked on the Railway Accident Archive but this drew a blank? The class 33 ended up at Eastleigh and was cut up sometime in 1988. This fascinated me as I looked at the loco at the end of the platform the following day on it's side by the Sub Station, I was seven.
