It is a shame that they did not included Athens in this survey.

Beograd 18.50 Thessaloniki 9.07 - 10.04 Athens 15.24
Athens 10.18 Thessaloniki 15.41 - 17.30 Beograd 7.42

In 2000:
Beograd 21.15 Thessaloniki 12.50 - 13.26 Athens 19.36
Athens 10.10 Thessaloniki 15.55 - 18.20 Beograd 6.50

Could easily have been in place for antwerp. No clue why it would be any different from Brussels. They're only 40 minutes apart.

Or Bucharest

You can certainly make it to Sofia, Vienna, Budapest, Belgrade, Chisinau and Kiev. (I am not sure about Moscow)

I did once travel London to Bucharest changing in Paris and Vienna, which was fun.

I enjoyed the book "Tales from the Fast Trains" by Tom Chesshyre...
An account of several long weekend continental trips away from London by train. Interesting as it describes the destination town "highlights" too.
Probably rather dated for travel info now, 2011 published, but was well worth the 1 Quid in the cut price bookshop!

Edwin.
