What do you mean “does something about it” ? Do you think Network Rail hasn’t done something?

Quite. It if stops being 'failed' then someone has done something about it. That someone is Network Rail. If it's a recurring fault that says the repairers are struggling to find the root cause.

A response team attends each point that fails. But just like any complex system, there are many parts and hence many possible causes.

Plus was it the same point end, or is this multiple failures on different points?

Also, the public information does not always reflect what actually failed. It could be a failure of the train detection system (track circuit or axle counter problem), or a interlocking, control system or a power problem.

Believe me, the teams that maintain the infrastructure do not enjoy having multiple faults occurring any more than you do.
